Hajin Encounter : 02 Foreign militants eliminated : Police | KNO

August 30 (KNO) : Police and Security Forces today in the early morning hours jointly launched a search operation based on credible inputs about the presence of militants at Par Mohalla in Hajin area of District Bandipora. During the searches, militants fired on the search party, which was retaliated leading to an encounter. In the ensuing encounter two militants were eliminated.

Huge quantity of arms and ammunition including rifles, magazines, pouches etc and incriminating material was recovered from the site of encounter. From the incriminating material seized from the site of encounter, it is learnt that both the killed militants were foreigners from Pakistan and identified as Rizwan alias Jindaal and Ali alias Maaz.

Both were affiliated with proscribed militant outfit LeT and were involved in several attacks on security establishments and civilian atrocities in the area. Police has registered a case in this regard and the investigation has been initiated in the instant matter.
